Howdy! Welcome To My Blog!

Welcome to my humble blog. I've created this space to share my experiences in gardening and landscaping. My landscape and garden is my happy place. It's the second place I long to be once I get home, only after making sure the dog, Sage, has been fed her dinner. I am also using this space as a more personal and descriptive journal, documenting all that I've done and all that I've tried. I can't wait to see all that happens over the next few years.

So, lets start with a little bit about me. As a kid, growing up in a rural area, I spent as much time as I could outside. Farming was still a thriving industry where I grew up. I played with my friend on her farm. My grandparents had a large victory garden in their back yard, and had immaculate lawns and landscapes at their homes. This very well may have had a subconscious influence on my area of study in college. What I do know was I did not have a clue at that time that I would fall so in love with plants. After a bumpy ride thinking I was going to be a doctor, I pulled a complete 360 and studied a different type of science, Horticulture. I have just as many books about plants and landscapes as I do for other genres. What can I say.... it just stuck with me, and I LOVE IT!

While I may have knowledge that the average person does not, I'm certainly no Master Gardener. or ultra creative Landscape Designer. Yes, I did work in the landscape industry for 6 years, and it wasn't always glamorous, but plants are truly my hobby and passion still. I take great pride in my surroundings. Spending my money on water, fertilizer, plants, dirt, etc. brings me more joy that lavish vacations or the latest electronics. Therefore, all posts are my own experiences and opinions. You may do things differently than I do. I may be doing things wrong too, and that's okay (but maybe drop me a comment and help me out).

As the years pass I'm embracing my crazy plant lady side. I really, really enjoy plants. Do I have a green thumb? Not always. Plants aren't always easy. Do I love being outdoors. Yes, but those Central Texas summers are murder and you make exceptions! I've killed many a plant in my time and surely will in the future too. I keep trying again. My take away from it all is that I learned; I didn't give up; I keep trying!

Enough about me now. I hope you enjoy my blog, and most of all, I hope I'm able to share knowledge and tips with you, and where you can learn from my mistakes!

Thanks for stopping by!
